I’m kicking off a brand-new playlist featuring some of my favorite classic TV themes, and up first is this gem — the Main Theme from WKRP in Cincinnati.
The vocal was performed by Steve Carlisle, and the original drumming was laid down by one of my heroes, the legendary Hal Blaine. (Fun fact: Kevin Valentine played drums on Steve’s solo record in 1982, while this TV theme was recorded back in 1980.)
