“Feel the Jail”: Hyderabad prison lets citizens experience life behind bars

Описание: Hyderabad’s Chanchalguda Central Prison has launched a unique initiative called ‘Feel the Jail’, allowing ordinary citizens to voluntarily spend 12 or 24 hours inside prison premises. Introduced by the Telangana Prisons and Correctional Services Department, the programme gives participants a real-life experience of prison routines, food, confinement and restricted freedom. Authorities say the initiative aims to create awareness about the value of freedom and the realities of jail life. A jail museum showcasing Telangana’s prison history and correctional reforms has also been inaugurated.
