Built in 2003, reserve engine 27 is one of the department's oldest. It is currently sitting in storage waiting for a new transmission to come in the mail. The #AnchorageFireDepartment maintains reserve engines (and other apparatus) so #YourAnchorageFireFighters can swap out and stay in service while the #AFDMechanics perform maintenance and repairs on the active rigs in the fleet.
