Here is my home movie experience of the Earthquake: The Big One attraction from December 2005 which closed on November 7th 2007 that used to be located at Universal Studios Orlando that would later go on to become "Disaster: A Major Motion Picture Ride...Starring You!" which opened on January 2008, then closed on September 8th 2015 to make way for it's current replacement- Fast & Furious Supercharged which debuted on June 26th 2015.

EARTHQUAKE: THE BIG ONE

Earthquake: The Big One is a former dark ride attraction at Universal Studios Florida that opened on June 7, 1990 in the San Francisco section of the Theme Park. It was based on the 1974 film, Earthquake. The experience is twenty minutes, and it operated for short periods during the 5 months after opening due to a series of problems in the design of the ride.
The attraction permanently closed on November 5, 2007 and got replaced by Disaster!: A Major Motion Picture Ride...Starring You!, and then later on, Fast and Furious: Supercharged. However, a version of Earthquake: The Big One which is part of the Studio Tour still operates at Universal Studios Hollywood.

EARTHQUAKE (1974 FILM)

Earthquake is a 1974 American ensemble disaster drama film directed and produced by Mark Robson and starring Charlton Heston and Ava Gardner. The plot concerns the struggle for survival after a catastrophic earthquake destroys most of the city of Los Angeles, California.

Directed by Robson with a screenplay by George Fox and Mario Puzo, the film starred a large cast of well-known actors, including Heston, Gardner, George Kennedy, Lorne Greene, Geneviève Bujold, Richard Roundtree, Marjoe Gortner, Barry Sullivan, Lloyd Nolan, Victoria Principal, and (under an alias) Walter Matthau. It is notable for the use of an innovative sound effect called Sensurround, which created the sense of actually experiencing an earthquake in theaters.
