The Atherstone Ball Game is an over 800-year tradition played every year on Shrove Tuesday. A giant leather ball is tossed into the town's high street at 3pm, and hundreds of locals compete to be the one holding the ball at 5pm. It’s as simple as that.
This was last year’s ball game, tomorrow it kicks off again.
