चार राज्यों के विधानसभा चुनाव में दो राज्यों पश्चिम बंगाल और असम में भाजपा के सामने चुनौती है तो केरल और असम में कांग्रेस के लिए । भाजपा इस बार पश्चिम बंगाल जीतने के लिए पूरा ज़ोर लगा रही है। पर कांग्रेस की ओर से केरल और असम में ऐसा प्रयास नहीं दिख रहा है । कांग्रेस केरलम नहीं जीत पाई तो यह कांग्रेस ही नहीं पूरे गांधी परिवार के लिए बहुत बड़ा झटका होगा। दोनों राज्यों में कांग्रेस ही नहीं राहुल और प्रियंका की राजनीतिक प्रतिष्ठा भी दांव पर लगी है । उत्तर प्रदेश में असफल होने के हाद असम में प्रियंका की राजनीतिक क्षमता परीक्षा है। राहुल गांधी के लिए चुनौती है कि वे जो नई कांग्रेस बनाना चाहते हैं उसके नेतृत्व की परीक्षा है। ये विधि चुनाव तय करेंगे कि राहुल की राजनीति ऊपर जाएगी या नीचे। कांग्रेस के लिए यह मध्यावधि चुनाव जैसा है। अगले लोकसभा चुनाव तक राहुल गांधी की परीक्षा का यह दौर चलता रहेगा
