This process allows for a discussion on the merits of the case, enabling the judges to weigh the evidence and reach a full resolution.
"If the case proceeds to a formal trial, the whole process is like an examination of the history of the Philippines at a critical moment, which hopefully would reach a point that it's resolved through a decision," he added.
The legal process also sends a message to all world leaders that their presidency must remain within the bounds of the rule of law, especially when addressing serious crimes.
