ABOUT JENNY HINKEY

Los Angeles based Producer Jenny Hinkey began her career as a 2nd AD and quickly moved through the ranks to become a Line Producer for independent films. Jenny’s career took an exciting turn when she landed the UPM role on Marc Webb’s directorial debut 500 Days of Summer.

Some of her other notable indies include The Trials of Cate McCall, Kevin Smith’s horror comedy, Tusk and For a Good Time, Call. Jenny then dove head long into the studio system as a UPM on three large budget Warner Bros/New Line films, Annabelle, Conjuring 2, and San Andreas, altogether grossing close to a Billion dollars in box office receipts.
Jenny’s first studio film as an Executive Producer came on the crowd favorite, Veronica Mars starring Kristen Bell.

Some of her streaming credits include Netflix’ Eli, Tall Girl and Holidate, along with Amazon’s Troop Zero. Hinkey also has Produced 2 television series, Aim High for Warner Bros and Cosmos for Fox. More recently Hinkey’s career has continued to expand in scope, and she was tapped by Fox Searchlight to Produce Michael Showalter’s Tammy Faye Bakker biopic, The Eyes of Tammy Faye starring Jessica Chastain. She also just reteamed with Amazon for the Sci-Fi Alien thriller Invasion starring Riz Ahmed and Octavia Spencer. Hinkey has just begun pre-production on a highly anticipated new installment of a billion dollar franchise at Paramount Studios, currently titled Black Snow.

Women's Weekend Film Challenge (WWFC) works for gender equity by creating opportunities for women to bring their leadership, talents, and stories to the forefront of the film industry. WWFC places professional filmmakers on crews to write, shoot and edit a short film in one weekend and provides top-of-the-line equipment, insurance and workshops. This career-building opportunity is free for participants.

Since its first challenge in January 2018, WWFC has worked with over 700 women to produce 30 short films, which have been accepted to more than 80 festivals.
