This list only takes into account fish and not marine mammals e.g. killer whales. It is claimed that fish such as the Black Marlin (Istiompax indica) can reach incredible speeds (80 mph or 129 km/h) however these speeds have only been estimated based on how fast a fish can initially strip a fishing line.
