Описание: The redesigned Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-In Hybrid is revealed. It goes on sale in Japan December 16, but won't reach North America until the second half of 2022, as a 2023 model.

The Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-In Hybrid 2023 moves to the same platform as the petrol Outlander model adopted for the 2022 model year. That platform is shared with Nissan Rogue, as part of an alliance with Nissan.

In addition to the new body shell, the Outlander Plug-In Hybrid gets a number of powertrain upgrades, including a larger battery pack. The 20-kwh package enables 54 miles of electric range on the WLTC test cycle, Mitsubishi said in a press release. The fuel tank is also larger, increasing the overall range, the automaker noted.

This will put the Outlander Plug-In Hybrid on a much stronger footing than the Toyota RAV4 Prime and 42 miles of battery capacity of 18.1 kwh. The outgoing model only gets 24 all-electric miles, and while the vehicle itself feels pretty outdated, the system tends to outperform its rated numbers.

The Outlander Plug-In Hybrid 2023 is assisted by Mitsubishi Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC) and Active Yaw Control (AYC) drivers. A recycled name once associated with the now-defunct Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution rally homologation, they activate seven terrain modes and brake-based torque vectoring.

Otherwise, the new Outlander PHEV wears the same skin as the standard model. digital display, interior layout is also the same and that's not a bad thing.

the hybrid exhibits similar driving characteristics, it can be a very tempting choice for eco-minded buyers looking for a three-row SUV.

Of course, that will depend on the price and that information will not be with us for long. Mitsubishi says full details on the US-spec model along with pricing will be announced next year, closer to the Outlander PHEV sales date.
