Towing companies accused of overcharging South Carolina residents with predatory towing practices

Описание: Florence City Councilman Chaquez McCall raised concerns following complaint after complaint from residents about being overcharged by some towing companies doing business in the city.

"I'm getting more and more calls and messages from people indicating that they feel as if they're being taken advantage of from predatory towing. And so it's getting to a point now where I'm getting the same, it's more of the same similar horror stories time after time again," said McCall.


He said many of those impacted are young women.

McCall said it's called predatory towing, using deception to take advantage of people, including illegal towing.
