When I was a kid in the Philippines in the 70's, the domestically produced Comics Magazines had a pretty diverse audience. That's because, not everybody had access to television. The Comics covered the same genres that Filipino movies had. From what I'm hearing, the Filipino Comics business is in decline. What's obvious to me, is that the audience isn't as big because everybody has access to TV now.
The imported American Comics are called, "Comic Books," The domestically produced one are called, "Comics Magazines." That's because they would have entertainment articles in between several serialized stories in each issue.
