Oslo Norway December 2024 Day 2|Nordic hiking through the snow

Описание: Oslo 2024 - Day Two (Sunday)

The alarm was set for the 8am wake up call, although to be honest we both could have slept in until later. As always we started our Sunday with breakfast (and I won’t bore you with what I had, because it was the same as the day before!) Once breakfast was done it was time to head out into the beautiful vibrant city of Oslo.

The first thing I definitely noticed when I stepped outside was how it was much colder than the day before. It was icy cold, and the ice on the ground was making it super slippery.

Because this was a short trip with no real plans Luke made sure we fitted in as much as we could, which meant a lot of walking and jumping on and off of trams and trains, which just added to the fun of exploring.

The main highlight of today was our 2pm guided Winter Walk & Campfire by Torchlight. We jumped on a train from Oslo Central Station and made our way to Frognerseteren Station, which sits at about 500 meters above the fjord. From there we started our adventure and headed off into the night (okay it was actually about 3pm but it was dark, so it felt like nighttime!) We walked over to the frozen Øvresetertjern Lake, roasted some marshmallows and drank hot chocolate (hallmark movie vibes) before collecting a hand held flame torch to guide us through the beautiful forest, where the snow sparkles like fresh cut gems. It was freezing cold, but so so worth it, it was absolutely picturesque, and there was so much snow!! Like real snow! The kind of snow you see in all the Christmas movies!

Once the tour had finished Luke and I headed back to civilisation and finished up our Sunday in Oslo at the Christmas market, drinking hot chocolate and finding festive foods. Oslo really is such a vibe,
It’s so festive and the cold adds that extra magic festive touch.
