Breaking news: Ken Dryden, the Hall of Fame goaltender who led the Montreal Canadiens to six Stanley Cup championships in the 1970s, has passed away at the age of 78 following a battle with cancer.

Dryden played eight seasons with the Canadiens, winning 258 regular season games and 80 playoff games. He collected five Vezina Trophies, a Calder Trophy, and the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP in 1971. Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1983, Dryden was more than a goalie — he was also an author, lawyer, broadcaster, teacher, and politician, leaving a lasting impact on and off the ice.
