Three Key Bills Blocked: The Mines and Minerals Bill, Public Service Bill, and State Service (Pensions) Bill are all currently stalled. The Parliamentary Legal Committee has issued "Adverse Reports" against them, citing constitutional violations.
"70 Years" Retirement (Civil Service): This is active for civil servants right now. It is currently running on a temporary regulation (Statutory Instrument), even though the main law intended to permanentise it (Public Service Bill) is stalled.
"70 Years" Retirement (Police): This is not yet in effect. The Police Amendment Bill, which would authorize this change for the security sector, has only just been introduced and has not yet passed.
