Every two years the city organizes a very impressive international event ‘Dordt in Stoom’.
‘Dordt in Stoom’, or in English ‘Dordt in Steam’ is the largest steam power event in Europe.
Enjoy steam engines, steamrollers and steam powered ships on an exciting event in the port of Dordrecht.

In the region the city of Dordrecht is nicknamed ‘Dordt’, so Dordt in Stoom means Dordrecht in Steam.
Dordt in Steam will open with an impressive naval parade on the river. In the picturesque harbour area dozens of steam-powered ships, machines and vehicles will be on view. Organisers expect about 250.000 visitors on this 3-day event.
Admission to ‘Dordt in Steam’ is free. Day-tickets will be sold for round trips on historic transport.

There are plenty of eating and drinking places. Try the typical Dutch poffertjes! The small pancakes served with butter and powdered sugar.
