Most romantic city in Colombia - Cartagena de Indias ❤ 🇨🇴⛪️

I was back in Colombia for about a month, visiting family and travelling for a while. The first days we were in San Andres and we had an incredible time there! Be sure to check that out because I think this is a must for Colombia (   • Her first time in an airplane and the sea!...  ).

This time we visited the famous Cartagena de Indias, also called the Heroic city. Probably one of my favourite places in Colombia, with cozy roads, beautiful landmarks and an incredibly romantic vibe that covers the whole city.

Because of this, it’s a bit more touristic than I would like it to be, but to be honest I think even like this it’s completely worth it. We stayed here for 3 nights and I think it was just perfect. Most of the time we used to explore the cute streets of the Old City and the incredible walls that surround it. It’s such a romantic place that is really hard not to fall in love with it.

We also visited San Felipe de Barajas Castle, which is a Spanish built fortress with almost 500 years of history. I found it super interesting and listening to the audio guide to learn about all the invasions that it suffered and the different design techniques used to defeat the enemies was quite interesting.

On our last day, we took a tour of Rosario Islands. These are part of a National Park and it’s one of the most common attractions in Cartagena. It’s a day trip where you can do some snorkelling and enjoy a bit of a better beach because, to be honest, the sea in Cartagena is not the most beautiful in the world. But if you go to the islands you will see some beautiful Caribbean colours.
