"I like the idea of putting something under the burner, not to "fine tune" the flame hight but because I don't like setting the burner right on the cold ground or if using it for "car camping" I want the burner off the camp table, tail gate or what ever."

I agree with DrunknShooter fully. In this video I show an insulated pad that I use to keep the Trangia off the cold ground. I'm pretty sure I've shown this before but I think it's kinda handy. All it is is a piece of cardboard covered in aluminum tape. Very easy to make and cheap. Not only does it insulate the burner and/or stove from the ground it reflects the heat back up into the stove.

I've also had a number of people ask me to do a boil test with the Open Spirit Stove upside-down so I also do that in this video.

In the video I forgot to mention that the distance from top of burner to bottom of pot on the potstand was about 1 1/4". The distance from jets to bottom of pot on the potstand was about 1 3/8". From previous tests I've found that the distance from top of burner to bottom of pot should be closer to 1".

One more thing I've been asked is to report how much alcohol (methanol) is consumed in my tests. I'll try to be better at reporting that.
