Season Three - Episode Four: "Green Light"
Episode Overview:
Though she and Walt are keeping up appearances for their kids’ sake, things at home have never been so tense now that Skyler has admitted to sleeping with Ted Beneke. With Skyler still unwilling to resume anything resembling married life, Walt takes matters into his own hands and heads to Beneke Fabricators to see his nemesis. But Ted refuses to talk and Walt’s efforts to confront him end with him being escorted out of the building. Nabbed in the company’s parking lot by Mike, the private investigator keeping tabs on him and Skyler, Walt lands back in Saul Goodman’s office. And after admitting that Mike bugged Skyler’s house, Saul sees that Walt has gone off the deep end and ends their business relationship. Meanwhile, as Mike finds evidence that the drug cartel has marked Walt for death, Jesse ends his hiatus from the drug trade by bartering some newly cooked meth for gas at an isolated desert gas station.
Upon returning to school, it’s soon clear that Walt isn’t ready to be back at work. Leaving for home after being put on an indefinite leave of absence, Walt is met in the school parking lot by Jesse, who, showing him the fruits of his latest lab work, asks to be introduced to their dealer, Gus. But when Walt refuses, Jesse angrily heads off to see Saul for help. Meanwhile, as both he and Marie dread his being sent back to the El Paso office that triggered his PTSD, Hank gets word that a new batch of blue meth has turned up in Albuquerque.
As Skyler begins to wonder if sleeping with her boss was the right move to make, Jesse arrives at Saul’s office. Though the lawyer doesn’t want to have anything to do with him, one look at Jesse’s blue meth changes his mind and he dispatches Mike to broker the deal with Gus. Finally, after a lead sends him to the desert outpost where Jesse traded meth for gas, Hank gets a frightened cashier to cooperate as he discovers a nearby ATM that has surveillance photos of Jesse’s mobile drug lab. And as Hank refuses the El Paso assignment in order to pursue this new lead, Gus’s bag man gives Jesse only half of the agreed-upon price before delivering the other half to a very surprised Hank.
