Traveling on a WFPB diet can pose a number of challenges when it comes to finding healthy snack options. In this video, I show you how to create your own SOS (salt, oil, & sugar) -free trail mix to enjoy the next time you are going to be on the road or otherwise away from home. Finding healthy trail mix and snack options is practically impossible when using commercial options. Thankfully, creating your own nutritious trail mix at home is super easy and cost-effective. All you need are various raw, unsalted nuts, seeds, and unsweetened dried fruit (without any oil or other added preservatives). You can mix and match these ingredient options to match your taste preferences. Some nut options are hazelnuts, walnuts, almonds, pecans, and pistachios. Different seeds are available such as sunflower, pumpkin, hemp, sesame, chia, and flax. You can also choose an array of various dried fruit options such as banana chips, apples, mango, goji berries, papaya, pineapple, raisins, pear, currants, and dates. You can even make this recipe with your kiddos!
