The Marconi Express, inaugurated on November 18, 2020, is an elevated people mover designed to connect Bologna Centrale railway station to Guglielmo Marconi Airport, with an intermediate stop at Lazzaretto.
Built by Intamin Transportation and managed by Marconi Express S.p.A. (a joint venture between Consorzio Integra and Tper) through a public-private partnership, this fully automated monorail covers 5.095 km in just about 7 minutes and 20 seconds.
The system includes 3 stations (Central Station, Lazzaretto, Airport) and operates 3 trains, each made up of two cars, with a total of 48 seats per train.
The average speed is 40 km/h, with a top speed of 70 km/h.
