Straight pool can be quite boring to watch when played by professional players - runs are too long, not much interaction between players. But in pyramid community there is a game called Long pyramid - rack is respotted when 2 balls are left on the table and the match continues.
Surprisingly - this is where tight pockets shine and make the game far more dynamic than real straigh pool since runs are only 3-5 balls and each frame features a safety battle when few balls are left on the table!
