It’s been two weeks since the July 4 deadly floods, and damage is still everywhere.
Camp La Junta in Hunt sits along the Guadalupe River. The cabins and horse stables are gone. Torn apart by the flooding.
Owner Larry Graham plans to rebuild and says he is overwhelmed by the community's support.
He described the terrifying moments on that day the flooding began.
“By the time the morning came up, we realized that it was a real flood, and it was bigger than anything we had ever experienced before. But nobody had any reason to expect it would get that big. It had plenty opportunities before, and it was always less than that.”
Now it’s all hands on deck on the cleanup and making sure that neighbors have the emotional support they need.
