Hi! #GarrettTheInvestor here! In this video we will be discussing what you need to do first as a first-time homeowner and it will give you a guide!

From my experience, most real estate agents are great at the search and find of a new property, however most of the time... what comes after is a mystery.

This video will give you some things to think about and tasks to address FIRST before you can fully enjoy your new home.

Step 1: Start with the end in mind... Have a goal set a plan and DATE to finish all of the work on your new place.
Step 2 - Switch address
Step 3 - Switch Utilities
Step 4 - Safety measures, including testing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Smoke alarms should be placed in each room, and carbon monoxide detectors on each floor.
Step 5 - Do a deep clean on your house
Step 6 - Come up with an emergency plan and come up with a list of emergency contacts if things were to go wrong. Also, come up with a designated meeting spot.
Step 7 - Plan an event (Small and safe of course) in order to create incentive and initiative to complete your household task and to celebrate your accomplishments as a homeowner!
Step 8 - ENJOY and create healthy and happy habits in your NEW home :)
