Ultimatum (TOP 1 MAXMODE) | UCN: Recode

So I started playing this mode on the 26th of January after I finished my buildup in hard mode. If you want to count hard mode buildup then I started building up in hard mode on the 14th of December. It took me 40 hours to buildup all the way to ultimatum which means combined I spent 99 hours on hard mode to beat ulti.

For the first 40 hours I enjoyed this mode and actually looked forward to playing it. After that though, it became no longer fun. Every time I got to 5am I would just die. And then I would die. And then I would die. I don’t even know if it was because of nerves or something (It definitely was) but I had more 5am deaths on Ulti than all of my 5am deaths on my four SSM wins combined.

As you can imagine this became torturous and I now dreaded playing the mode every day. On the night that I died at 5:59.7 (at about 3am), I refused to let myself sleep until I beat it. My eyes were stinging and were still wet with my tears. But I kept playing until the morning when my siblings and Mum got out of bed. Even after I stopped playing, I didn’t want to let myself sleep. After my first or second 5:59.9 I was having trouble sleeping just thinking about it. Thinking how much of an idiot I was and how easy it was to just put the plushies in my tracker. I didn’t want to sleep after that 5:59.7 because of that. I eventually couldn’t keep my eyes open anymore and nearly fell asleep on a beanbag, so I went to bed at 9am.

I also had a lot of trouble with Ultimatum’s gameplay (Mainly mangle and Orville/Ned bear) which wasn’t common according to Serd and Techy. This ruined my mental state even more because I had pretty much figured out greenrunning after my first 5:59.9 and all I needed was to put the plushies in my tracker and get back there. 5am death after 5am death I hated the mode more and more and wanted to give up.

I would not have been able to finish what I started if it wasn’t for those who supported me.

To explain why this mode is difficult briefly, you need to be constantly playing as fast as you can while keeping track of everyone. You need to memorize where the vent and duct anims are when you check them and know what order to prioritize each anim. The mode is fully reaction based and can’t be beaten with a cycle. Not only that but the mode has a lot of rng involved! Every spawn timer is random so you can just get everyone syncing up at once and you lose all of your power when you did nothing wrong, Plushtrap and the plushies that spawn in the hall are completely rng and spawn when they want (Plushtrap’s first spawn is random, the rest are based off his first spawn and the plushies are just completely random from a certain minimum and maximum interval). Worst rng Ultimatum is literally impossible for these reasons.

Talking about all of this I haven’t even explained the mode's entire difficulty. Power. Specifically because of Lefty. Lefty’s hard mode makes him get more aggressive every frame you don’t check on him, meaning you need to constantly check him every time you’re in cams. Not only that but because it’s hard mode he already moves faster than normal mode. This makes Lefty never fucking want to sit down the whole night and waste all of your power. You need to perfectly manage lefty while staying on the VERY strict power pace all night. Without lefty, this mode is Perfect Cacophony difficulty. LET THAT SINK IN. WITHOUT 1 CHARACTER, THE MODE GOES FROM TOP 1 TO TOP 11!
