England Coach Tuchel Ends Greenwood Speculation

Описание: Thomas Tuchel has made it clear that Mason Greenwood is not part of his plans for the England national team. Greenwood, who has one senior England cap, was suspended by Manchester United in 2022 following legal issues before charges were dropped in 2023. After a loan spell at Getafe, he secured a permanent move to Marseille and began considering a switch to represent Jamaica internationally. Although Greenwood has obtained a Jamaican passport, he has yet to complete the official paperwork to change his association, choosing instead to delay his decision. This has frustrated Jamaica head coach Steve McClaren, who had hoped to include him in the squad for World Cup qualifiers. Nonetheless, McClaren insists he will maintain communication, noting Greenwood’s respect and affection for Jamaica. Tuchel, however, stressed that Greenwood’s focus is currently on his club career and that England are not considering him for selection. Despite his uncertain international future, Greenwood’s strong form at Marseille ensures he remains a player of significant interest.
