To this now, from killing pests to killing the coronavirus, a local company is making a major change to its business model, becoming sanitizers for places looking to reopen.

Speaker 2:
CBS 13's Ryan Hill shows us this company, how it's adjusting from going from spraying for pests to spraying for germs.

Ryan Hill:
The teams at Clark Pest Control are getting ready for a different kind of job. Not getting rid of roaches or mice. The new task at hand, getting rid of the coronavirus.

Speaker 4:
Before, we were able to see our, you know, see the pests, see our targets. Now, you know, it, it's an unseen enemy.

Ryan Hill:
Another instance of a business having to change its business model amid the pandemic. The company, going from using insecticides in its equipment, to EPA-approved disinfectant. But this new service comes with new challenges. There's also the process of training crews from going and spraying very targeted areas of a building to spraying the whole thing.

Speaker 4:
We're not able to monitor. We're not able to, to do some sort of visual followup in the way that we are with, with a lot of the other work that we have. And so because this doesn't have that, that visible evidence, if I do adjust our approach to be much more blanketed in, in what we do.

Ryan Hill:
The crew is wiping down everything at Cypress Baptist Church from doorknobs, to toys, to the rows of chairs in the main hall. This place of worship and others in California may reopen in the next few weeks. Pastor Bob Ross of Cypress Baptist says it's a service he may continue to use after the church reopens in order to protect the congregation.

Pastor Bob Ross:
I'm sure it's going to be kind of a regular thing until, you know, we kind of get a handle on what's going to be required of us. We'll have different protocols for cleaning once we do open it up for meetings and things.

Ryan Hill:
Angels dressed in a different kind of white, giving this church and others a protective prayer to reopen.

Speaker 4:
We are extremely proud to be a part of the process to reopen this state. This is something that we are looking to give back to the community.

Speaker 1:
And Clark Pest Control says it will work with clients on followups once they reopen.
