This Mother Goose nursery rhyme video allows you to see and read from a historical Mother Goose book. The original book you're viewing was published in 1901, so it's over 100 years old! You'll love the fanciful illustrations and older traditional children's rhymes! You'll notice that this version of Mother Goose had slight differences in wording compared to the current traditional telling of the rhymes. The meaning remains the same, of course, and it's interesting to see the detailed differences. I did remove one rhyme in case it bothered parents. (It was about a man smoking and didn't have much value, nor was it a well-known rhyme.) There is still a reference to Old King Cole and his pipe in this video, but I think most people won't be concerned about that. If you are, let me know. I like to know what works and doesn't for people.

I had always heard that a certain person wrote the Mother Goose rhymes, but apparently, they are a compilation of popular nursery rhymes that have been around for probably hundreds of years. Nevertheless, kids like the idea of a "Mother Goose" who fashioned all these nursery rhymes for children. I don't ruin that fun for them!
