Описание: Watch the construction and operation of a Fischertechik crane made from a 1970s vintage "Hobby 1" construction set.

Although I grew up with LEGO Technic construction sets I have taken a liking to the Fischertechnik construction sets. They tend to be easier and quicker to build, require much less planning ahead when building free-style, and building errors are typically much easier to correct, making the Fischertechnik building system extremely suitable for quick prototyping and for demonstration models of mechanical principles.

This particular crane model is found in Fischertechnik's stand-alone instruction booklet "Hobby 1 - Band 1", pages 56-58. Although the crane is simple to build it illustrates several important features of common crane designs.
