Injuries are an inevitable part of an athlete’s journey—but how can we help them recover more effectively and get them back on track?
Motion-capture technology is a powerful tool for studying movement in biomechanics labs, but traditional systems are often expensive and complex.
Dr. Victor Cossich, PhD, a postdoctoral associate in the Faculty of Kinesiology, left his established biomechanics practice in Brazil to come to UCalgary to expand his capacity for problem-solving and patient care by adding innovation and entrepreneurship to his skillset.
With the support from the Aeir program at the University of Calgary, Cossich developed Mokapp, an AI-powered software that transforms ordinary cameras—like webcams or smartphone cameras—into motion capture and processing tools. The software promises to make movement analysis more accessible, affordable, and user-friendly while delivering high-quality scientific data that enhances the way you analyze athlete performance.
The Aeir program provides a unique opportunity to help transform your innovative academic research into a successful startup, guided by seasoned mentors who specialize in bridging the gap between academia and entrepreneurship.
