Four years since I planted these. They have been blooming reliably every spring. I cut the foliage back twice a year. The foliage after bloom time are braided so they can return nutrient back to the bulbs for as long as they can. when they turn yellow, I can easily pull them. New foliage starts to show in Fall. I leave the alone till early spring. Cutting them back to about an inch so the blooms can show off better when they arrive.
Plus, the foliage would be messy and blocking other plants around them if left alone.
