The most worried about complication of pregnancy is of course stillbirth. Here I discuss various risk factors for stillbirth. I hope this will help decrease your anxiety as you get closer to your estimated due date. This will help explain why your appointments are getting closer together and more frequent. It will also explain why some patients need extra testing and others don't.
If you are nervous about your risk of stillbirth then watch PEEP09, where I describe different types of antenatal surveillance or antenatal testing. I also discuss reducing the risks of stillbirth with induction of labor in the 39th week of pregnancy in PEEP11.
I hope these videos will provide the science and data to decrease your anxiety and to make the best decisions for you and your baby.
