This video upload was long long overdue - but with peak winter, I felt fewer people would choose to visit Ladakh. So here is what the Leh market had to offer us when it comes to shopping - watch till the end, I will share what all i shopped.

there are several Tibetan market lanes at the leh market, if you love silver jewellery, oxidised jewellery, souvenirs, home decor items, clothing, local dresses - I would say explore all these lanes before you get down to really shopping!

In this video I also share a local shop with handicrafts made by the local women of Leh - this shop had items I saw no where else - though it was pricey. I do suggest refraining from bargaining in Leh as the sellers only get a few months to run their business as the winter months are excruiciating cold.

Traditional ladakhi dresses had my heart - they were made of thick raw silk , and of course were expensive - no complaining at all on that front - they were statement pieces - to be cherished for generations!

The market is full of shops selling Buddhist mandala art, if you get down to chatting with the sellers - they will explain the story and journey of each painting.

Don't forget to shop the local mufflers, socks and caps that the sweet local women are knitting along the leh market road side. They are authentic and warm!
