Nick: I'm Nick from Concept Steel Constructions and I'm here with another job in Ardros. This job is a foam panel building and we're at the stage of basically putting the windows and doors in and just getting the outside completed. Essentially, the main advantages of foam panel is it's very energy-efficient, actually 15 times better than double-brick, which is just quite amazing.
It's basically less wasted floor area as well. Double brick is 230 mill and the goam panel is only 100 mill. So this basically equates say on 140 square meter floor plan, you gain an extra 3x3 meter bedroom that is just literally further, have all taken up more room as you measure it around the perimeter.
Another advantage is it's much faster. It goes up at least in half the time of what double brick does. There's less trades needed. Carpenters basically put the whole job up. You don't need [inaudible 0:01:07] flushes, plasters, all those sorts of things and also in winter there's no damage for the rain because basically this product is rated to go outside. It's just color bond essentially and polystyrene and it doesn't have any problem with water going on it, same with washing the walls off. It's easy to wash off if you got your little T roller that's designed to roll all over the walls. You can just wash it off straight off the walls.
We're doing this foam panel basically as a cheaper version as it is which is just where the joints are still visible, but we also offer with the joints filled and house painted inside and out with a render finish on the outside or the house paint on the inside so that it just looks like a normal build.
Yeah, that's basically it. There is a heap of advantages to this product. That's the main ones but I'll actually point out some other advantages as we do more video on it.
