It is time for a big update about large scale Dutch arable farm Franzen Agriculture, located in the South-West of the country. We see the farms brand new Tumoba Brussels sprout harvesting robot at work. Back in July, the tulip bulbs were harvested and graded. This is followed by the wheat harvest with a new Claas Lexion combine.
The farm is trying to be less reliant on crop protection chemicals. One method is using a haulm puller for seed potato desiccation. We see a new Vegniek Discmaster in action. Optical grading machines and AI learning help to improve crop quality in sprouts and seed potatoes. New optical grading machines have been purchased, which can be seen in action.
Farm owner Frank Franzen shares his honest story about harvest 2025: high yields and low prices. He also has big concerns about crop quality, especially for Brussels sprouts. With the current glut in farming through Europe he tells what management changes are carried out on the farm for the 2026 season.
