In this video, I will show you how to resize an image proportionally without cropping in Figma in 2026. It is very frustrating when you drag the corner of an image frame and it cuts off the photo instead of shrinking it. This happens because the default image behavior in Figma is set to "Fill." I will teach you the difference between the Move Tool (V) and the Scale Tool (K), which is the secret to resizing anything perfectly.
I will guide you through using the "Scale Tool" (shortcut K), which allows you to drag any element—text, groups, or images—and resize them while locking their aspect ratio and font sizes. We will also look at the "Image" settings panel to switch your fill mode from "Crop" or "Fill" to "Fit," which forces the entire image to stay visible inside the frame no matter how you adjust the dimensions.
