This video shows how to disassemble and repair the Nikon SB-600 bounce by replacing the Flash Bulb which needs to be removed with a soldering iron.

This video is rated 5/5 stars for difficulty because it requires close attention to the details and the process as well as the use of specialty tools (soldering iron, caution and common sense).

Caution:

You MUST take the time to discharge the Capacitor and test with your multi-meter it's energy level which is the the size of a "D" battery, located in the swivel part of the flash. It is very powerful and can hurt you, and will also damage the circuits if you try to remove the bulb without discharging first. The video shows it only for a second since mine was already discharged, but generally discharging takes more than a few minutes depending on how long ago you energized it.

*DO NOT touch the resistor you use to discharge the capacitor, if it's not rated high enough it will burst but either way it will get VERY HOT.

Take extra care not to touch or bend the zoom brushes located under the lighting unit.

*Do not touch the bulb with your fingers. Like any high powered bulb, oils from your skin can cause the bulb to shatter during use.
