Catholic Church Attached to School in Hawaii Seemly Unattached by the Fires | EWTN News Nightly

Schools are re-opening and traffic is moving again, but the search for the remains of those who died continues. And a high-ranking state official has resigned following his actions during the blaze. Herman Andaya faced heavy criticism after he refused to activate emergency sirens during the blaze. He says the warnings could have caused people to travel toward the fires. Critics say the alert could have saved lives. Meanwhile, there also are developments about a Catholic Church that was in the middle of the fire and appears to be unharmed. Principal of Sacred Hearts School in Lahaina, Hawaii, Tonata Lolesio, joins to share what it was like during the wildfires. She tells us about the condition of the school and all her students. Lolesio discusses whether there are any immediate plans to get kids back in a school-type setting and how soon she thinks they can fix the part of the school that was damaged. The Maria Lanakila Church that the school is attached to seemed to be completely unharmed by the fires. Lolesio explains what she felt when she saw that.
