In this conversation, interdisciplinary artist Lukas Avendaño shares the layers that permeate his practice: the body as territory, memory as a living force, and ritual as a political act.
Originally from the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, Oaxaca, Mexico, his work intertwines performance, anthropology, and dissent to create spaces where identity is not reduced to imposed categories.
Bardaje, presented in Vancouver as part of @pushfestival 2026 in collaboration with Latincouver, offers a physical and poetic experience where gesture, sound, and matter activate a constantly transforming symbolic landscape.
