This years mark's the Anniversary of Annesley Sidings (Great Central Railway) that closed in June 1965, with the adjacent engine sheds following in January 1966.
To mark the event the Great Central Railway and Timeline Events put on a Photo charter.
Visiting BR Standard 9F No. 92134 from the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for the Great central's winter steam gala in a couple of days helped by being renumbered as lost sister 92043.
The original No. 92043 was closely associated with Annesley, the Great Central Railway’s principal locomotive depot in Nottinghamshire. Built in the mid-1950s, the engine worked extensively on freight services before becoming one of the final locomotives to leave Annesley when the depot closed in January 1966.
