In no way am I attempting to sound like Reggae music. I just like to think of this music as ragged and its title is a play on words. It's very canonical with lots of stretti. It is easy to make a canon if the material is pentatonic. This tune is mostly pentatonic, but the 4th and 7th tones of the scale are there also.
This piece is a total improvisation on my synthesizer in multiple tracks. One of instruments that I used is water glasses. I sampled a set that I created and made an instrument out of it on my EPS. I composed a number of improvs for my Ensoniq EPS, using various instruments, and the sequencer. All of them are improvised, generally without corrections. Using the EPS I was able to layer multiple sequences and instruments and to use the synthesizer's sound-altering capabilities.
I found this and 24 other lost improvs on a backup drive. I had only had two of them on my computer and had created videos for the two and posted them on YouTube, but I bemoaned the fact that I had lost all the rest. When I found these on my backup drive I was surprised to find that I had numerous versions of them with alternate instruments.
