In this livestream podcast, Raphael Turrigiano and I will scrutinize the claims by Carme Jiménez Huertas in her book "Romance Did Not Begin in Rome," where she asserts that none of the Romance languages are derived from Latin, and that they all evolved from some other source.

These claims are easily falsifiable. Neveretheless, in the interest of fairness, Raphael and I will carefully examine her book in detail, applying lingustic rigor and philological acumen to the arguments of the author.
