(15 Apr 2016) World leaders, including European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, are calling for solidarity in efforts to deal with the global refugee and migrant crisis.
"This is a crisis of solidarity. This is a matter of compassionate leadership for humanity," Ki-moon said while speaking at a forum entitled "Forced Displacement: A Global Development Challenge".
World Bank President Jim Yong Kim and Queen Rania of Jordan also delivered remarks, underscoring the need for a global response to the crisis.
The discussions are being held as part of the spring meetings of the 189-nation IMF and its sister lending organization, the World Bank.
