Professor Fink then describes Food Vacuoles, Lysosomes ("Suicide Bags"), Mitochondria, and 3 microtubule-based structures (Centrioles, Flagella & Cilia). Reference is made to apoptosis (autolysis) and 4 examples are given (including formation of embryonic fingers & toes, atrophy of the womb at menopause, atrophy of a tadpole's tail during metamorphosis & autolysis of viral-infected human cells). In this video, Professor Fink also describes mitochondrial DNA and the role of cilia in the respiratory tract and Fallopian Tubes.
