Описание: According to Air Marshall Sir Arthur Harris, in this interview of 1977, he got a direct order from Eisenhower’s headqaurters to bomb Chemnitz, Leipzig and Dresden and got it confirmed in writing from the Air Ministry. According to Harris, there was also another reason to bomb these cities, namely, that the allies got intelligence that the German forces where planning a redoute at the foothills of the Alps from where to strike and the supreme headquarters wanted, on the basis of this intelligence, block all transport from the north to the south and vice versa.
