Are the Three Laws of Robotics Enough to Keep Us Safe?

Описание: We are living in a world where AI and robotics are prevalent and mainstream. I have always enjoyed reading science fiction and one of my favorite authors in this genre is Isaac Asimov. He has written such books as I, Robot and The Foundation Trilogy. He also came up with the three laws of robotics.

I find these laws fascinating because we are living in a time when we have smart AI robots and humans living together. Asimov’s three laws are:

1. A robot may not injure a human being or through an action allow a human being to come to harm

2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the first law

3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the first or second law

Asimov also went on to write a fourth law which was called the zeroth law because it is meant to proceed all the other laws and it says: A robot may not harm humanity or by inaction allow humanity to come to harm
