Chef Tatung shares his approachable and budget-friendly versions of two beloved Filipino favorites — Buridibod from the Ilocos region and Pansit Miki Guisado, a popular noodle dish enjoyed all over the Philippines.

Buridibod is a hearty vegetable stew traditionally made with sweet potatoes, squash, malunggay, and bagoong. In Chef Tatung’s version, you can recreate its rich, comforting flavors with readily available vegetables like string beans, eggplant, and leafy greens from your local market. No fancy pantry needed — just wholesome, local produce and a touch of bagoong for that authentic Ilocano taste.

For Pansit Miki Guisado, Chef Tatung uses fresh miki noodles stir-fried with chicken, shrimp, cabbage, carrots, and other common Filipino kitchen staples. Seasoned with simple sauces you likely already have — soy sauce, fish sauce, and pepper — this dish is perfect for family gatherings or a quick weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Set A (Buridibod)
2 Cups Fresh Tomato,
¼ kg Pork, sliced
1 Cup Fish Paste ( bagoong isda )
1 Cup Water
1 Pc Onion, sliced
4 Cloves Garlic, smashed
1 Thumb Ginger, sliced
2 Pcs Sweet Potato, chopped
3 Pcs Bitter Gourd, quarts
2 Pcs Green Eggplant
2 Cups Okra, sliced
1 Bunch Sitaw, chopped
1 Bunch Squash blossoms

Set B (Pansit)
Oil for sauteing
1 Cup Pork, sliced
1 Pc Onion, minced
4 Cloves Garlic, minced
1 Cup Carrots, julieanne
1 Sachet Maggi Magic Sarap
2 Pack Pancit Miki,
1 Cup Pork liver
¼ Cup Oyster sauce
2 Tbsp Soy sauce
2 Cups Cabbage, chopped
2 Tbsp black pepper
Dash of sesame oil

Side with kalamansi
