Hi guys! Today we are making Sarma which is traditional middle eastern dish but we gonna make it as Balkan countries with pickled cabbage. It takes 2-3h but its so worth it! Its super delicious!
Ingredients:
500gr minced meat (2cup)
250gr rice (1 1/4cup)
1 onion
2 gloves garlic
salt, pepper, red paprika
Your prefered spices
One big pickled cabbage
oil
water
You are going to fry onion and garlic with a bit of oil. Then add mineced meat (I used pork but u can use beaf or mix of both). Add 4tbsp of water and cook it a bit. Add spices and salt and while its cooking wash well cabbage leaves. Add rice to meat mixteur. On each leaf ull put 2 tbsp of meat mixteur. Fold and roll like on video. Cover with water almost full baking bot, cover with aluminium foil and bake for 1 hour on 200°C/400°F. Then sprinckle red paprika and hot oil on each sarma. cover again and bake for another hour but last 20min uncover to get nice and golden.
