"The idea behind this music video came from a creative venture that expanded upon idea of abuse coming from the female in the male perspective. I was doing a research paper in college about drug abuse among couples struggling in certain financial settings. At the time it was winter break and I was visiting my family at home and I realized that I didn't want my life to be anything that invited abuse in, nor did I want to be stuck back in Top City (Topeka, Kansas) where I grew up. That is how this song and music video concept came to be. It all happened very fast and now I'm very glad to see this video actually come to life years later.
