The floor framing plan of a reinforced concrete structure is shown in the figure. The columns are 400x400mm and the beams are 320mm wide with h=350mm. The section at supports for beam IJKL is also shown in the figure. Assume f’c=28 MPa and fy=415 MPa. The NSCP coefficients for continuous beams and slabs are given in Table 406.5.2.
1. Calculate the nominal moment strength of the beam? (247.5 kN-m);
2. Calculate the maximum factored uniform load wu that can be supported by the beam IJKL
(71 kN/m); and
3. If h=500mm, calculate the nominal moment strength of the beam?
(404 kN-m).
